Designed with the user's safety in mind, the pad is not fireproof, but it will safeguard your deck area from an ember or burning log until it can be placed back into the fire.
This heavy-duty pad, with its 6MM thick neoprene and fiberglass construction, is not recommended for use with wood-burning firepits, cast iron chimineas, or short chimineas, such as the Blue Rooster Company's Garden chiminea. However, most of the company's chiminea fireplaces and clay chimineas with stands can be placed directly on the pad.
The pad is rated to withstand temperatures of up to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit for short periods, making it an ideal choice for protecting floors and decks from the intense heat generated by a chiminea. The UV coating on the pad helps to resist fading, ensuring a longer lifespan.
Tested and certified to meet or exceed the CPSC standard FF 1-70 for the flammability of carpets and rugs, the pad is designed to be wind-resistant, with a weighted, non-slip backing and woven fiberglass top and poly edge bindings for seasons of use.
